ACB Caribbean is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced individual for the position of Operational Risk Officer to provide support to the Senior Manager – Risk & Compliance in providing oversight of risk at the operational level in the organization to provide timely identification and mitigates to manage same.
The duties to be performed include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Reviews operations and practices on a continuous basis by performing special audits and provide meaningful feedback and sound recommendations for improvements.
- Responsible for coordinating special spot checks for cash, credit and debit cards and other high-risk areas where dual control is necessary.
- From the audit reports, assesses all areas with control and other deficiencies and make recommendations to close these gaps.
- Supports partners with handling escalations, investigations and problem resolution and escalate where appropriate for urgent and systematic issues.
- Investigates any reported losses and produce a report to management with recommendations.
- Reviews night bag and cash parcel movement sheets for accuracy.
- Ensures that fire drills are regularly conducted at all locations.
- Assesses, identifies, analyses and evaluates the threats and risks of disruptive events to the Organization on a regular basis.
- Ensures that the hurricane season BCP tips and other staff notices are uploaded to the Intranet in a timely manner.
- Provides advisories and training on other disruptive events (earthquakes, floods, tsunamis, robberies, power failure, pandemics), including disaster scenarios, on a regular basis.
- Complete annual spot checks to determine whether new risks exist/identified.
- Provides assistance to the Human Resources Department in conducting safety audits and inspections.
To perform the job successfully, the individual must meet the following requirements:
- Degree in Business/Finance/Management or relevant field
- Post graduate or professional certificate provides added advantage
- Certificate in AML
- At least 10 years of industry experience
- Ability to work under pressure and multitask
- Possess self-confidence and high level of reliability
- Microsoft Suite
- Report Writing & Business Case Development
- Communication skills – written and verbal
- Organized, thorough and accurate
- Demonstrates integrity, respect, agility, and sound judgment in all activities and interactions
- Maintains confidentiality
- Has good problem-solving skills as it relates to reconciliations, risk assessment and financial problems. Ability to manage time and keep schedule strictly
- Good interpersonal skills, strong organisational skills and investigative skills
