Notwithstanding these adversities and challenges, I am pleased to report that the Antigua Commercial Bank Group recorded operating income of $20.1M compared to $17.1M the previous fiscal, a growth of 17.5%. Net income grew by $2.0M or 13.8% to $16.0M. Despite these challenges, I am pleased to report that the Antigua Commercial Bank Group strengthened its position in the financial sector. Loans and advances, the Bank’s core business activity, grew by $80 million (19%) primarily through commercial and mortgage lending. Our profit for the year increased $1.7 million (13%) due to overall flat total income and a reduction in operating costs by $1.5 million.
