ACB CARIBBEAN SHAREHOLDER ENGAGEMENT SERIES CONTINUES WITH EDUCATION ABOUT POTENTIAL ECSE LISTING
On June 30, 2022, the Bank hosted another successful Virtual Shareholders’ Forum.
Over 150 Shareholders from Antigua and Barbuda, the Caribbean region and around the globe, logged in virtually to engage with the Chairman of the ACB Caribbean Board of Directors, Mrs. Lorraine Raeburn; ACB Caribbean’s General Manager, Ms. Joanna Charles and the featured Panelist for the event, Eastern Caribbean Securities Exchange’s (ECSE) Senior Manager Operations Division, Mr. Geron Burnett. The event was moderated by the Bank’s Senior Manager – Marketing & Corporate Communications, Ms. Marita Laurent.
Shareholders were informed of the key benefits of listing on the Eastern Caribbean Securities Exchange and the implications for both the Group and its Stakeholders. In her remarks, Chairman Raeburn commented that “The option of listing on the ECSE is one of the Group’s Strategic Priorities and that the Forum provided Shareholders with an opportunity to have their questions answered and identify any concerns, prior to the matter being formally submitted for Shareholders approval”.
The ECSE’s Mr. Burnett explained that “The ECSE is the only exchange operating in the OECS and is built on a state – of – the – art infrastructure that enables market access and reporting and trade settlement to transcend national boundaries”. The ECSE’s Vision “To be the medium of choice for wealth creation and capital – raising in the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union” was also referenced.
Ms. Charles also highlighted the benefits of listing on the ECSE to include opportunities for its 5000 plus Shareholders to trade their shares in an organized secondary market, to allow investors to realize capital gains and to increase the Group’s credibility as it continues to pursue its commitment to create value for those it serves.
The over two hour discussions were robust and Shareholders were kept engaged and informed during the question and answer section.
ACB Caribbean looks forward to hosting future similar events to ensure that its Shareholders are provided with the opportunity for continued dialogue on key issues and developments impacting the Group.
